Membership
The Society has an active membership of 100+ with an annually elected committee. Key activities and benefits include:
- An opportunity to meet and engage with local people who share a common interest in the well-being of the town and protecting it for current and future generations.
- A programme of monthly evening meetings with guest speakers.
- Organisation of town trails along with local guided walks.
- The provision of a bi-annual Newsletter and a historical ‘Bulletin’ of local articles.
- East Grinstead May Fair stand.
- Annual General Meeting and election of Committee.
- Access via this website to Society news and planning responses.
Additional examples of the Society’s work are the planting of trees, the restoration of churchyard railings and the Protestant martyrs’ memorial along with the identification and documentation of local green spaces.
New members and visitors, of all ages, are welcome to attend our monthly Friday meetings at East Court (College Lane, East Grinstead, West Sussex RH19 3LT) and organised walks. The current diary of events can be seen on our Society Programme page.

You can download and print the Membership Application Form. Upon completion please post to the Membership Secretary, together with a cheque for £15.00 payable to The East Grinstead Society:
